WANG Zhiqiang

Professor Zhiqiang Wang is a Ph.D. advisor and vice dean at School of Energy and Mining Engineering at China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing (CUMTB). He is an academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (РАЕН). He used to work as an assistant chief engineer (temporary assigned job) for Shanxi Huozhou Coal and Electricity Jinbei Fenyuan Coal Industry Co., Ltd., and later a vice dean of the mining department of Xinjiang Institute of Engineering (aid for Xinjiang). He has been a visiting scholar of Russia National University of Science and Technology“MISiS”, and member in international academic committee of the Nobel Communication Center in Russia (NCCR). He is an academic member of the Beijing Crustal Stress-Strain Field Scientific Observation Station of the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), executive director of the Soft Rock Engineering and Deep Disaster Control Branch Council of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics&Engineering (CSRME), member of the Mining Rock Mechanics Branch Council of the CSRME, member of the Quality Management Branch Council of the China National Coal Association (CNCA). He is an editorial board member of theJournal of Coal Engineering(JCE), and youth editorial board member of theJournal of Coal Science and Technology(JCST).

His areas of expertise include green mining system on dislocation layers, non pillar final mining, residual coal remining, etc. His new concept of "continuous mining" following underground sequential time and space , and method of "mine complex geological dynamic system", have been awarded applied mathematics achievement certified by the Chinese Society of Industry and Applied Mathematics (CSIAM) (only 4 people awarded nationwide).

Professor Wang has been awarded the "Eighth Batch of Outstanding Cadre Talents of Central and State Organs and Central Enterprises in Xinjiang" and "One Time Merit Recording" by the CPC Xinjiang Committee/People's Government. He has also won an "Outstanding Contribution Award" for the 60th anniversary of the founding ofJCE(10 people awarded nationwide), and "Outstanding Reviewer" and "Outstanding Contribution Expert" ofJCST. He has been in charge of over 30 projects including three programs of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one program of State Key Laboratory for Green and Safe Coal Development in Western China, and more than 30 programs for coal mining enterprises. His research achievements include one first place of the Ministry of Education for Science and Technology Progress Prize, one first place of Coal in China for Science and Technology Progress Prize, and many other provincial and ministerial level awards. He has won 24 authorized invention patents, published 6 monographs, and published over 100 academic papers.
